Where's Wendy Update!

Ahhh, it's been so long since I've uploaded any videos or posted a blog, and I feel awful not keeping up with it! So I thought I ought to upload/post a quick update to let you know where the heck I've been.
While I love making YouTube videos & blogging about makeup products, I also lead a pretty busy life. Which means sometimes, the blogging and YouTube-ing has to take a backseat.
I recently got married, and if you've ever planned your own wedding, you know that's stressful (in a good way) and time consuming. My husband and I are also in the process of moving to a new apartment - more space, yay - so that is our main focus at the moment.
Blog posts will resume soon, as there are tons of products I've been trying and can't wait to share my thoughts. So please keep on checking back! OR better yet, follow my blog so you won't miss anything =)

Stay Pretty!

My Top 5 Lip Balms

If you didn't know, I'm slightly obsessed with lip balms. I have so many in my makeup drawer, in my purse, on my desk, etc. They're everywhere! But for some reason, regardless of how many I have, I always find a reason to get a new/different one. I mean, I need it... right?

So out of the sea of lip balms, which ones made it to my top 5? Find out after the jump!

Out of the Box: Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner

Lately I've found myself reaching for my liquid eyeliner more than my gel liner (which I usually use all year round). I've been a fan of the Milani Eye Tech liquid liner (with a felt tip) but I only had it in brown until recently.

While I was out searching for the Milani Eye Tech liner in Black, I came across the Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Liner. For $6.99 I figured... why not?

Spotted: New Colors for L'oreal Infallible Eyeshadow

I stopped by Walmart today before work because I needed to pick up some essentials (cotton pads, q-tips, etc) and I also wanted to get the Conair Multi Size Hot Rollers that you've been seeing everywhere on Youtube, haha! More about the Conair Hot Rollers in a later post (or video)...

While I was at Walmart, I saw that they had new colors for L'oreal Infallible eyeshadows! I'm not sure how "new" these colors are, but it's my first time seeing them.

From left to right: Golden Emerald, Endless Sea, Glistening Garnet, Smoldering Plum, Bottomless Java, and Liquid Diamond

Spotted: Magic Lumi Tru Match Foundation & L'oreal Youth Code BB Cream

Lately, I feel like every time I walk into a Rite Aid, Target, CVS, or Walgreens, I see a new BB cream or foundation...

I have my go to BB creams (Dr. Jart or Skin 79) and my usual pick of foundations (L'oreal True Match, Maybelline FitMe, and the new Naked Skin), but that doesn't mean I'm not curious about some of the new products.

I'm especially curious about the L'oreal True Match Lumi, which sounds like the put the True Match foundation together with the Magic Lumi primer/highlighter. For me, True Match goes on my skin very smoothly, its easy to blend, and it stays on my face pretty well. I love a dewy look, so if this foundation can achieve that, it will make it into my collection of everyday foundation =)

And then there's the array of BB cream popping up all over. I haven't tried any of the new ones by Garnier, Maybelline, etc... but the L'oreal Youth Code BB cream caught my attention. I use Youth Code serum at night as part of my skin care routine, so I wonder how the Youth Code BB cream will compare to my current BB creams.

Love VoxBox Products

This is the first Influenster VoxBox of 2012, and it's filled with amazing products! If you don't know about Influenster, you should check them out at www.influenster.com It's free! Once you make your account, you can start unlocking different badges based on your lifestyle. You qualify for a VoxBox based on your badges, how active you are in the Influenster community (via Facebook/Twitter/Pinerest/etc.) It's a great way to be introduced to new products.
Once you've qualified and received your VoxBox, you get to test and review items inside, which is the best (and most fun) part.

Here's what we received in the Love VoxBox:

Gillette Venus & Olay razor-This is very similar to the Venus Proskin. It has a 5 blade razor, surrounded by Olay moisture bars to keep your skin moisturized. The best part is that the with the moisture bar also acts as a shaving cream. You don't even need it! I like this one more because it's so much more moisturizing. And the gold color is really pretty =)

Stash Herbal Tea Sampler- Comes with 9 different flavors: All are caffeine free, which is nice because it won't keep you up at night. So far I've tried the apple cinnamon chamomile, blueberry superfruit, and peppermint. They are delicious!

Truvia All Natural Sweetner- I've used Splenda for a while and it's always been my go to sweetner. I've seen Truvia commercials on tv/internet, but I've never been interested in buying. Now that I've tried Truvia, I think I'll be sticking with it. It's not as sweet as Splenda and it's still calorie free.

Kiss Nail Dress- This is probably my favorite product from the Love VoxBox! This is similar to the Sally Hansen Salon Effect nail strips. Application was very simple, just match your nail size to the stickers in the package. Then peel, smooth, fold, and file! Both hands only took me about 10 minutes to finish. In love with this product!!!

Ghirardelli Creamy Devotion Milk Chocolate- Enough said. Who doesn't love chocolate? I'm not a big fan of milk chocolate, but Ghirardelli made this so delicious and creamy! They also have this in dark chocolate, which I'll be getting.

If you like the products in this VoxBox, try and qualify for your own at www.influenster.com! It's free =)

Thanks for reading and check back for new blogs!

Welcome to my blog & February Haul

Welcome to my blog! Here you'll find different make-up products, accessories, and fashion as I discover them. Of course there'll be product reviews, and maybe tutorials in the future.
So a little about me... I'm an aspiring actress living in LA. I'm also a sword fighter, stilt walker, and dancer. The road to becoming a successful actress in LA is no easy task, but I'm lucky to have people in my life who are very encouraging and pushes me to keep going. I try to go on as many audition as I can. Of course, you want to look your very best at every audition. That's where I found my passion for make-up and fashion/accessories! Through this blog, I hope to share my findings with you.

Since this is the first entry, I'll just show you some of the things I hauled in February. I made a YouTube video for the February haul as well so if you want to watch that instead, feel free to scroll down. The haul section will start at 6:47.

Ah yes, the Naked 2 Palette from Urban Decay. I'm sure all of you are tired of seeing this EVERYWHERE! I have the original as well. While I love the Naked 2, I prefer the original. I feel that the warmer tones shows up more on my skin vs the coolor tones of the Naked 2. As you can tell from the picture, I haven't used it all that much... still experimenting with it =)

Top role (L to R): Iced Latte, Eternal Sunshine, Amber Rush.
Bottome role (L to R): Perpetual Purple, Golden Sage, Midnight Blue
L'oreal Infallible Eyeshadow is something I'm totally obsessed with right now. All the colors are super pigment-ed. It stays on for a really long time and doesn't crease on me. I've been wearing them almost everyday. The top 3 (in the picture) are the ones I grab for daytime and the bottom 3 I use for more dramatic looks. I didn't feel it was necessary to get all the colors because I do have other eyeshadows I still use, but these 6 makes a good additional to my make-up collection.

in Pink Plum and Plum Wine
Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush- I don't own a lot of blush. Usually, I find the one that I like and just keep using it until I need a new one. However, when I saw these in the store, I really wanted to try it. The consistence is similar to the Dream Mousse foundation. I definitely favor the Plum Wine over the pink plum. While it looks very dark, its a lot lighter once applied. It really gives me a pretty glow where as with the Pink Plum I have to apply a little more for it to show up. Not sure if I'm going to continue to purchase these... I find that the colors fade faster than my powder blush.

(L to R): L'oreal Balm in Rose Elixar,
Revlon Lip Butter: Peach Parfait, Berry Smoothie, Lollipop, Cherry Tart, Fig Jam.
The L'oreal Balm I actually got for free! I was in LA when L'oreal promo models stopped by and gave me not one but two! Unfortunately, it's not my favorite. The color Rose Elixar doesn't show up on my lips very much (my lips are pretty pigmented) and I don't see myself buying more in the future, although it is very moisturizing! The Revlon Lip Butter is amazing! It's a sheer lipstick that is also very moisturizing. There are so many colors out there, but there was no way I was able to buy that many lipsticks, so I just picked out the colors I would use. The colors Lollipop and Fig Jam really surprised me. Lollipop is a very pretty, almost fuschia color. It can give you that extra pop of color. And Fig Jam, while it's brown, it still doesn't look very dark. I will definitely continue to buy the lip butter as long as Revlon makes them.

It's been a while since I've used a primer, so I decided to  give the new L'oreal Magic Lumi a try. I'm still a little undecided about it. I kind of feel that it's more of a highlighter than a primer. I know it's "light infused" but it doesn't have that primer feel when I put foundation over it... I don't know. I'm going to have to keep using it before I reach a verdict on this one. They also made a concealer as well, which I hear is similar to the YSL concealer pen.

Well, that's it for my February haul! Here's the YouTube video if you wanted to watch that instead of reading through this very long first entry:
